Adult Class/Slow Session
The branch runs an Adult Class and Slow Session for learning adults. This takes place every Tuesday night starting at 7:30 PM in the Artane Beaumont Family Recreation Centre (opposite Tesco at Arane Castle.)
The format of the evening is as follows. From 7:30 PM to 8:30 PM there is a class led by an experienced teacher. One tune is taught every week. The class caters for a mix of instruments. The emphasis is on repertoire building, ear training and learning to play in a session. It does not address the technical issues of playing a particular instrument. So some basic ability is required - typically a year or two of playing. The class is followed by an hour-long slow session where the tunes taught are practiced.
Participants are welcome to stay for the adult session which follows afterwards.
